About

It all started in North Pole, Alaska. It was around 1985-86 and my mother had bought two foil framed prints of a small fishing village from a traveling salesman. I always thought they were so beautiful and would dream of walking the streets of this beautiful little village. I had no idea where this place was or if it even existed.
My parents always had these prints displayed in their home and even brought them with us when we moved back to our home state of Minnesota. When they decided to move to a smaller place up in northern Minnesota my mom wasn't sure what to do with them. I immediately asked if I could have them for my home. I was thrilled that she said yes!
Fast forward to September of 2015, I was living in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was on a second date with a handsome gentleman from Manchester, England, Brian Sterling-Vete. During dinner that evening we found out that we had a lot in common since he was an acclaimed exercise science expert and I was training for my first bikini fitness bodybuilding competition. When he dropped me back at home I invited him inside to discuss the meal plan I was on and the supplements I was taking. While I was explaining my exercise and diet plan I noticed that he had become transfixed by the foil prints on my wall of my "fantasy" fishing village. He then turned to me and asked "Why do you have my fishing village on your wall?" I was stunned.
He proceeded to tell me that this was the first place his Mother had taken him on holiday as a child, and the last place he took his Mother on holiday before she passed away. It was simply his all-time favorite place. The beautiful foil prints I had on my wall for all those years was Polperro, England.
I immediately looked at him and said "Well, if that isn't a sign! You might as well put a ring on it now!" holding my left hand up. He immediately said "YES!" and we both laughed. We are now husband and wife and have visited Polperro multiple times already. It is a magical place and once we discovered the art of sea glass we thought it would be a great way to share part of this magical place with you.
We sincerely hope you enjoy your piece of Polperro.
Love,
Helen Renée
Since then we were able to go back for a long weekend and collect some more fabulous pieces from all over Cornwall! I decided to use the pieces we have found and turn them into beautiful "Mermaid Tears" necklaces. Each piece is custom made and no two are alike. If you would like one that is sold and would like a similar one I will do my best to accommodate you! We have a limited number of green, amber, yellow and blue until we go sea glass hunting again. You can have your very own Piece of Polperro.
As many of you know, my favorite place in the world is Polperro England. Polperro is a village and fishing harbour on the south-east Cornwall coast in the south west of England. Polperro has many legends including that of the ghost of Willy Wilcox who was reputed to be a smuggler and disappeared whilst hiding in the beaches' labyrinthine caves. We discovered sea glass (mermaids tears) hunting lon our very last day of our 10 day holiday. We found a handful of fabulous pieces on that last day and I was hooked!
